The recycling program for county employees

Cell Phones

Cell phones contain toxic heavy metals such as lead, mercury and arsenic and should be turned in for recycling. Phones are exchanged for pre-paid calling cards for service personnel overseas. Phones are also refurbished for reuse to go to battered women, elderly persons, & other charitable uses. Newer phones are refurbished and sold in developing countries for use. Older phones are taken apart and recycled for metal and plastic.
