Broadcast E-mail to Your Co-Workers

Did you know there is something very simple you can do at work to help the environment? Request recycled paper.

More than 90 percent of the printing and writing paper made in this country is still non-recycled paper made from trees. Every ton of recycled paper substituted for non-recycled paper saves 17 trees, uses fewer chemicals and natural resources, and reduces air and water pollution.

With high quality recycled paper readily available and priced competitively with non-recycled brands, now is a good time to make the switch. Recycled paper can be used successfully in a wide variety of uses from finicky copiers to high-end graphics printing.

Here are a few things you can do in support of Buying Recycled Paper:

  • Use recycled paper at work. Stock recycled paper in copy machines, printers, and fax machines, specify recycled paper on print jobs, and label communications with "printed on recycled paper."

  • Tell the purchasing department you want recycled paper and paper products. Request paper with at least 30% post-consumer recycled content or more. See www.RecycleWorks.org for a memo you can send to the purchasing manager.

  • Check out www.RecycleWorks.org for a list of recycled paper vendors.
