Composting Workshops

Learn how easy and fun it is to recycle your fruit and vegetable scraps, leaves, and plant cuttings into compost! Compost provides valuable nutrients for your garden soil, helps retain moisture which saves water, suppresses weeds, prevents soil erosion, and loosens clay and compacted soils for better drainage and water retention. It is rewarding to know you are turning what some consider organic waste into a nutrient rich organic material for your garden.

The County of San Mateo's Office of Sustainability also offers lectures, exhibits and special events — find out what's coming up!
