Community Cleanup Event

Earth Day has been celebrated for over 42 years on April 22nd.

Have you thought about how you're going to celebrate this year?

The County is starting a trend to reduce litter and illegal dumping in our communities - not only on Earth Day but on every day! We encourage you to take action and clean up your neighborhood. Participate in neighborhood clean-ups and work to reduce solid waste where you live, so it never reaches our creeks, the bay, or the ocean. The earth is all around us, and it is important to keep our neighborhoods clean for wildlife and humans.

How to get involved?

Be Seen Keepin' it Clean
Neighborhood Community Clean-Up Event
Saturday, April 28, 2012, 9:00am - 12:00pm
Starting Point: 2600 Middlefield Road, Redwood City

If your family, group or organization is interested in volunteering please call us at: 1-888-442-2666 or send an email to info@RecycleWorks.org.

What to expect on the day of the clean-up?

Breakfast treats are being provided by the San Mateo Credit Union and lunch will be provided by El Grullense for all volunteers.

On the day of the clean-up, we will assign each volunteer to a group and a group leader. We will provide each group with a map of the location and some collection bags. Every volunteer gets a pair of gloves, or you can help even more by bringing your own gloves and a reusable bucket. Dress in layers, wear closed-toe shoes, and be prepared to get a little dirty.

To participate in the clean-up, sign the waiver and bring it to the event.

Note: Volunteers under 18 years of age must have their parents sign the waiver form.

Forms will be available for students who need to complete community service hours.

Students who do not have a signed waiver at the beginning of the event will not be allowed to participate.
